The Loople Sendai is a bus with a nostalgic appearance, leaving from Sendai station and running in a circular route, taking approximately an hour to visit the main sightseeing spots in central Sendai. The single ride fare is \250 for an adult and \130 for a child for all destinations. A one day free pass also is available for \600 for an adult and \300 for a child. The bus stops at spots such as the Site of Sendai Castle, Zuihoden Mausoleum, Sendai City Museum and Miyagi Museum of Art.

The site of the resident castle of the lord Date (1567-1636) was established at an altitude of 120m, on a natural cliff fortress defending the East and the West. The stone wall and the reestablished corner turret are the only remainders of the old times, and the site is currently open to the public as a park. In the park, there is a mounted statue of the lord Date Masamune, as well as the Aoba Castle Material Museum, where a computer graphics generated movie of the restored Aoba Castle is shown.

The Jozenji-Dori Avenue is lined with beautiful zelkova tress, filling the valleys of the buildings. The bronze sculptures represented by the El Greco's "Memory of Summer" are scattered around the promenade on the median strip. The Jozenji-Dori Avenue is the symbol road of Sendai as the capital of green, where both the green and the art can be enjoyed simultaneously.
The Pageant of Starlight takes place in December, with the rows of zelkova trees decorated with beautiful illuminations.

The Osaki Hachiman Shrine was erected in 1607 by the lord Date Masamune (1567-1636) to deify the guardian of the Date Clan. The attraction is a stylish Momoyama Style of architecture, concentrated in the magnificent shrine pavilions, and is currently under restoration for preservation until October of 2003. The shrine is also a well known venue for the annual Dontosai Festival on January 14th.

The streets of the city are decorated with ornaments of Japanese paper attached on green bamboo logs swinging in the wind.
